Ancient Djenné / Nila faience bead
This beautiful long strand necklace is composed of a mix of Ancient Roman glass beads, Mali Djenné beads, Mali clay beads, Zircon, raw blue diamond nuggets, Amazonite, turquoise, agate, vintage African-trade Cornaline d’Aleppo beads, a mix of six (3-4 mm) vintage Indian wax faceted 22K gold foil beads, two vintage (4-5 mm) Indian wax faceted 22K gold foil beads, 18K gold-plated 925 sterling silver lobster clasp.
Age marks, imperfections, minor nicks and digs or scratches on some beads attest to their extensive use. They play a part in the story of beads and add an element of intrigue to each creation.
